Plot Summary
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Based on the 2nd in the series of books by 'CS Lewis' , "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," the film tells the story of 4 children who go to live with an old professor during the war. One day, while playing hide and seek, Lucy, the youngest of the children, finds a wardrobe which leads to a magical land called Narnia.
However Narnia is being ruled by the evil White Witch who has made it snow for 100 years and according to an old prophecy, Edmund, Lucy, Peter and Susan are the "chosen ones" who will defeat the Witch. They are assisted by the true ruler of Narnia, the lion, Aslan. With the good Narnians on their side all 4 children must now defeat the witch using all their strength and fulfill their destinies to become the new kings and queens of Narnia.
Goofs
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
- Continuity: When Edmund is rescued he has a big cut on his lip. When the queen and Aslan go into the tent for their meeting it is a smaller cut, and when they come out it is bigger again.
- Continuity: When Mr. Tumnus is bringing Lucy to his home they are walking through the snow leaving prints. In the wide shot, Tumnus' prints are human footprints (bootprints), not hoofprints.
- Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Near the end of the movie, Lucy gives Edmund the potion that is able to heal any wound. His major injuries are healed, but the cuts on his lip and face remain. When Santa gave Lucy the potion, he told her that putting the potion on any wound would heal it. When she gave the potion to Edmund she gave it orally, so it would heal his internal wounds.
- Continuity: When Lucy first arrives in Narnia, and sees the lamp post. She touches it with one hand, but when she hears Mr. Tumnus coming, she's touching the post with the other hand.
- Continuity: In the opening scene when the Germans are bombing London, the shot of the sky shows that it is very cloudy. However when peter and Edmund are running after retrieving the photo, the planes are clearly visible and are not masked by any clouds.
- Continuity: When Edmund meets the White Witch, her servant forces Edmund onto the ground. He has snow in his ear. In the next shot it is gone, then it comes back again. When he stands up, the snow is gone again.
- Continuity: In the final battle with the Witch, Jadis first stabs Peter through the middle of his sword arm and the grass is green. When the shot is cut back to Peter and Jadis, the sword is only going through the chain mail on the upper part of his arm and the grass is brown.
- Errors in geography: At the beginning of the battle, when Jadis appears from behind the hill with all her troops, we can see her stopping close to an upper natural "step" in front of her. Later, she orders her bears to move, but we don't see her falling. The step is gone.
- Anachronisms: The coaches of the train on which the Pevensie children travel have Great Western Railway colors and lettering. The engine, No. 7802 Bradley Manor, is painted and lettered for British Railways, which did not form until 1948, after the war ended.
- Continuity: When Lucy is talking to Tumnus after entering Narnia for the first time, she touches the lamp post which is covered by snow. Her fingerprints in the post change positions many times.

Trivias
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
- Walden has optioned the entire seven-part "Chronicles of Narnia" fantasy book series for film development.
- The movie had two fake working titles: "The Hundred Year Winter" and "Paravel." Signs in Auckland that directed extras and crew to the sets had "Paravel" written on them.
- The Director, Andrew Adamson, who himself is from West Auckland, along with some of his production crew, were given a traditional Maori welcome in a meeting house near the West Auckland studios. This was done as a sign of respect to the native people of West Auckland, whose lands were used for filming locations.
- When placing ads in "The New Zealand Herald" for extras, the first call was put out for people under five feet and over six feet four. Calls for extras were made in New Zealand's main cities of Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch over a period of two weeks. Later calls were for moderately tall males and females.
- The makers asked for permission to bring in twelve reindeer to New Zealand to pull the Ice Queen's sled. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry denied, citing the potentially deadly Q fever from which the North American reindeer population suffers as the reason. However, ten wolves were allowed in for filming in Auckland.
- Tilda Swinton hadn't read the book prior to filming.
- Co-producer Douglas Gresham is the stepson of C.S. Lewis, author of the novel upon which the film is based.
- Because Skandar Keynes wasn't there at the time that they were filming the scene where Edmund follows Lucy into the wardrobe, Anna Popplewell wore his costume from the waist down and did the scene for him.
- When the Pevensies are at the train station, Peter looks at a soldier. That soldier is played by Jaxin Hall, the runner-up who auditioned for the part of Peter and lost to William Moseley.
- Georgie Henley's reaction to Mr. Tumnus at the lamppost is genuine. She had not seen her cast mate James McAvoy in his costume before the scene was filmed, so her screams and reaction were real. Georgie's first reaction to the snowy world of Narnia is also genuine - she was carried into the set blindfolded to make her first entrance, and her wide-eyed, delighted reactions to it all are entirely her own.
