Plot Summary
Kindergarten Cop
John Kimble is a tough city cop who's been on the trail of drug dealer Cullen Crisp for years. He finally tracks Crisp down but it seems the only person that can testify against him is his ex-wife. The problem is she's disappeared and all Kimble knows is the name of the school in Oregon where her son attends. When things don't quite go to plan, Kimble finds he has to go undercover on his toughest assignment yet - Kindergarten teacher!
Goofs
Kindergarten Cop
- Continuity: During the trip to Astoria, John and Phoebe pulled off to the side of the road when Phoebe is feeling sick. She ran to the bushes to get sick then returns to the car and trips over a log that was not there before.
- Continuity: Phoebe's position after being hit by the car after the fire at the school.
- Continuity: Crisp's mother's hair during the shootout in the bathroom.
- Factual errors: John and Phoebe travel on an MD-80 aircraft. There are five seats per row in these planes, but the set was constructed with six.
- Continuity: On Kimble's second day of teaching, he is wearing a red shirt. When he picks up the little boy who is eating the lunches, he is wearing the outfit that he wore on the first day. After that, he is wearing the red shirt again.
- Continuity: At the end of the movie, Kimble tenderly walks with a cane into the classroom. When Rachael comes in, the cane disappears and he whisks her up and spins her around as if he has no injury.
- Crew or equipment visible: Reflected in Mrs. Sullivan's car door.
- Continuity: When Kimble is grilling Crisp after Crisp's arrest, Kimble pushes him onto a table and a paper cup gets knocked over. When we see Crisp from the front, the coffee cup is upright.
- Factual errors: During evacuations and evacuation drills, teachers take their gradebooks/class lists so attendance can be taken. This is standard procedure, but the teachers in the movie were coming out empty-handed.
- Continuity: When the firemen start escorting the students across the road after the fire, the fire chief's Caprice has its trunk open. In the next shot, when Phoebe runs to the entrance, the trunk is closed.

- Dominic has "Ghostbusters" sheets. Ghost Busters (1984) was also directed by Ivan Reitman.
- The poem that Kimble reads to the children before naptime is "Spring Morning" from A.A. Milne's book "When We Were Very Young", with illustrations by E.H. Shepard.
