It's all happening in the Beach Party Capitol of the world...Miami is the setting for Dharma Productions latest offering Dostana - serving a cocktail of all ingredient to do with Friendship, Fun, Frolic and that thing called Love... but with a slight twist - there is a small case of pretending to be Gays!!

When Sameer (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal (John Abraham) are turned down for an apartment because the landlady doesn't want two strapping young men to corrupt her young sexy niece Neha (Priyanka Chopra) they go to plan 'G' - they pretend to be 'Gay' to secure the apartment.

All is well till they meet the sexy siren Neha and thus begins a journey of fun frolic and a test of friendship like never before. When Neha's boss Abhimanyu (Bobby Deol) enters the fray as the third contender for her affections, it gets even hotter under everyone's vests and bikinis and the boys get down and dirty in sunny Miami.

Trivias

• Aishwarya Rai was originally offered the role of Neha, but she refused because she felt that her real-life marriage to Abhishek Bachchan would ruin the whole idea of the movie.
• The film originally featured a song, 'What the F**k', but then censor board of India wont allow the film to be given an U-certificate (equivalent to 'PG'), but an A-certificate (equivalent to 'R'). Therefore wherever the song had the F-word, it was over-toned by a 'scratching of discs' sound, and the film finally got a U/A-certificate.
• The first film in India, whose main plot is based on gay relationships. Before that homosexuality was shown only in a comic sense, mostly with double entendres. The first (and till now only) film in India which took homosexuality seriously was Girlfriend (2004/I), based on lesbian relationships.
• Saif Ali Khan was initially offered the role of Kunal; but he rejected it, because he felt that he would be sidelined by Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai(who was originally in talks for the lead role) due to their popular marriage.
