Plot Summary

Acid Factory

Our memory is the source of all emotions. It is also the source of our guilt. What if a killer wakes up one day with his memory erased? Would his crime cease to exist? What if an innocent guy wakes up one day with his memory wiped out and perceives himself to be a criminal? Would that perception change his reality?

Faltering memory continually alters the constancy of truth. Short term memory loss denies you of an identity throwing you into an abyss of excruciating agony.

acid’Acid Factory’ is about a group of characters whose sense of past has vanished in a haze. They have woken up from a coma like sleep only to discover that reality might just be a figment of their imagination. Their sense of right and wrong is convoluted by their state of complete distrust of the other and their sense of self righteousness. Wouldn’t your survival instinct make you renounce your evil self so that you can survive?

Acid Factory’ plays out as a thriller; a morality game within and a cat and mouse chase on the outside. This purports to be a mother of a thriller which will have you on the edge of your seat and, most probably, rooting for the wrong guy.

Acid Factory

Maxabout Review

A high-octane thriller, morality play on the inside and a cat and mouse chase on the outside..

Friday, October 09, 2009

Sanjay Gupta's new outing, ACID FACTORY, directed by Suparn Verma, is a cat-n-mouse chase that will have you on edge of the seat as it unfolds. Inspired by Hollywood film UNKNOWN, ACID FACTORY is engaging in most parts. Also, it's well adapted to suit Indian sensibilities. It starts off strong enough and keeps the momentum going till the end, though, of course, it goes back and forth at times and that could get a bit confusing.

This is Suparn Verma's second film as a director and midway through the film, you realise that Suparn has grown as a storyteller. The film bears a slick look and also, the narrative holds your attention for most parts.
If you love the thrill and chill with fast-paced action, ACID FACTORY cannot be missed.

ACID FACTORY demands your attention from the very start. The viewer ought to stay alert and watch the goings-on carefully. Even if you blink, chances are you may miss a vital link and the subsequent portions may not work for you since there's something happening every minute.
The plot is such that it takes time to come to the point. There's not much happening in the first hour, except the fact that everyone's clueless about their identity and how they seem trapped in a dilapidated factory.

The casting is appropriate and the performances don’t disappoint. All the actors, including Fardeen, Dia, Irrfan, Manoj Bajpai, Dino Morea, Aftab as well as Danny Denzongpa, have showcased a different, at the same time maintained a classy act.

Irrfan Khan as Kaiser is really impressive. He has adopted an entirely distinct style in delivering the dialogues, which justifies the chilling character. Danny has showcased a stylish acting while Manoj has been given a total revamp. While Dino looks good with his new look, Fardeen reminds you of the grace and style showcased by later Feroze Khan.
Not to miss Dia Mirza. This Miss India chubby girl, whose performance kicks off during the second half of the movie, has showcased a cool, calculating, and a completely confident acting. Her presence on screen is a solid one.

The sharp editing leaves the audience totally amazed and the action scenes are typically Hollywood. This is one of the best movies of the season, in terms of action, direction, screenplay, editing, sound and cinematography. Keep a watch out for Sultan, JD, Romeo, Max, Om and Sartak. They are your vital clues to this jigsaw.

ACID FACTORY has its share of loose ends. The climax, for instance, could've been more impactful.
Cinematography is top notch. So is the sound design. Tinu Verma's stunts and chase sequences deserve distinction marks.

ACID FACTORY is a well-crafted, well executed film with the ensemble cast pitching in competent performances. ACID FACTORY has an interesting premise and also super stunts and chase sequences as its trump cards.
