Plot Summary

Aa Dekhen Zara

Ray Acharya (Neil Nitin Mukesh), a struggling photographer has nothing going for him... until he inherits a very 'special' camera from his grandfather which changes his life in a way that he could not have imagined in his wildest dreams.

The 'power' of the camera changes Ray's destiny overnight. His life becomes one big roller coaster ride that takes him from rags to riches and also helps him meet the love of his life, Simi (Bipasha Basu) who is an exciting sexy DJ with a mind of her own. Everything is hunky dory and moving towards 'happily ever after'.

As they say with great power comes great responsibility and in Ray's case, also great danger. He must now face up to the dark side of reality and win not only against the evil forces but also against fate.

Aa Dekhen Zara is a fast-paced, romantic musical thriller with some great edge of the seat action.

Can Ray change his date with fate? Aa Dekhen Zara.

Maxabout Review

Sporty Action Packed Romantic Thriller!

Friday, March 27, 2009

The film “Aa Dekhen Zara” is a science fiction, a thriller where a camera predicts future and life of a young couple is captured by the camera and later it is also controlled by the camera. Directed by Jehangir Surti in what can be called only a pathetic attempt at making a sci fi movie, the plot is a complete roller coaster ride with a lot of ups and downs leading to anything but a climactic end.

The movie stars one-film-old Neil Nitin Mukesh with Bipasha Basu. Neil plays a photographer while Bipasha plays a DJ. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu didn’t make it any better with their acting which was just amateurish.

From being a struggling, ordinary guy, Ray turns into someone who has loads of money and power. The camera also helps him meet the love of his life, Simi (Bipasha Basu). A sexy DJ, Simi had always believed in doing what she wants, allowing no one to dictate her life. Life is going smooth for Ray, probably towards the 'happy ending'. However, he has yet to realize that great power comes with great responsibility and, at times, great danger. As he comes face to face with the dark side of reality, he has to win against the evil forces as well as his destiny.

Halfway through the film, you realize that the writers have run out of ideas. In fact, by the time the film reaches the finale, the viewer is terribly confused. AA DEKHEN ZARA is a prime example - an interesting thought may not necessarily translate into an interesting screenplay.

By the time the film reaches the finale, it leaves the viewer terribly confused. Seems like this is one jigsaw puzzle that remains unsolved even after its culmination. 15 minutes into the film and you're drawn into Neil's world. You are exhilarated every time he wins a lottery or race. The introduction of the negative force (Rahul Dev) is smartly handled as well. But the plot slackens thereafter.

To be more specific, the second half is a problem. The screenplay should've packed some great moments, but the writers seem to take an easy way out.

Neil Nitin Mukesh, as he has already proved with 'Johnny Gaddar', is an actor to reckon with. He impressed us in 'Aa Dekhen Zara' as well, with his easy charm and natural grace before the camera. He managed to look impish as well as susceptible, both at the same time.
On the other hand, Bipasha Basu was, as usual, her 'hot', 'sexy' and 'sultry' self. She played her part with Neil.
Rahul Dev
is perfect for the part. Biswajeet (Neil's grandfather) has a tiny role. Sophie Chaudhary adds to the glamour quotient. She doesn't get much scope, frankly. Bobby Vats is okay.

Gourav Dasgupta lauds up with couple of spicy and massy tracks like "Aa Dekhen Zara", "Power" and Rock the Party" while Pritam makes it a "decent-hear" affair with two likeable tracks in "Gazab" and "Mohabbat Aapse". The songs are youthful and energetic, one of the reasons why AA DEKHEN ZARA has generated tremendous interest.
Jehangir Surti can't do much since he's saddled with a poor script. Cinematography is good. The chase and stunts are well canned.

AA DEKHEN ZARA is another audible Bollywood "party-album" with all "disco-dhamaal" in constructively innovative 80's flavored thriller appeals.

Franky speaking i have watched this movie with great expectations but it disappointed me . I am not sure whats the role of Bipasha here she is shown as DJ in earlier and then as a singer later(was DJ her part time job?) . All the story is about a camera which shows pics of next day. The story line is pretty predictable how our hero earns money n fame with the help of camera and conclusion of the movie is quite illogical.

Anyhow I would rate 2 out of 5 for this film.
